The act of promoting your site is what is called 'internet marketing' and the basic definition of internet marketing is any action applied on the internet that's basic goal is to direct targeted traffic to a website and features on the site that exist to create a desired Call to action.
There are several different forms of internet marketing, ranging from email marketing, pay per click (PPC) advertising campaigns, to search engine optimization (SEO). Since search engine optimization is one of the most important and in-depth processes to gain additional targeted visitors to your site, we have devoted an entire section to it. OffSite Marketing- helps a potential client find your site.

Search Engine Placement or Pay Per Click (PPC):

This form of marketing allows a person or entity can arrange For a web site to be placed in a pre-determined position in some search engines. This is done in with a system that operates similar to an auction. Each user selects their keywords and creates ads For their site(s) (ads should be relevant to keywords) and place a bid on how much they are willing to pay per visitor that visits their sites from those ads (otherwise known as a click thrus). The amount of your bid Then determines where you will place among all parties bidding on those keywords.

If you want a good example of this system, go to Google and search For anything you want. Now you should be able to look at the right side of your screen and see one or more text ads. It should have a blue title, Then two lines of content, and the web address at the bottom. These ads have proven extremely effective over the years and companies like Google and Overture are making it easier For everyone to afford them. Not only do you name your own price For clicks, you can set a daily budget that limits the search engines so that it will not keep displaying your ad(s) once you have reached your set daily limit. Now both companies have introduced geo-targeted ads, allowing you to place your bid knowing that the only people that will see those ads are in the geographical area(s) you've selected. This is making this service a better resource For locally owned and independent companies, because If you are selling a service in Atlanta, like housekeeping, you probably don't have the desire to advertise in San Diego.

For this service, we will research keywords that are relevant to your business and compile a complete report of keywords that would target visitors that would have an interest in your product or service. This service works hand in hand with our search engine optimization service, and allows us to take keyword and competion research we use in performing search engine optimization to provide you the most click thrus For a cost that fits your budget. You will be given full access to the account to monitor what we are doing. This service includes setup, initial bidding, bid management For 30 days, ad creation, and PPC Placement monitoring. During PPC management, you will receive at least 2 email updates a week with recommendations For increasing bidding and a report of how many times your ads have been displayed and how many clicks they have received (per keyword), and how many times each ad has been displayed and clicked on. This also covers making changes to the ads, monitoring the keywords, and analyzing the data on your displays and clicks on either a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule, depending on your package. If you would like this performed on a different schedule than currently available, we will build you a cost-effective custom package to fit those needs.

You will be responsible for setting a limit for us to use and for paying the PPC source (Google, Overture, etc…) for cost per click. Also, you will be required to enter your credit card information, or give that information to us to enter, for billing purposes of the PPC source.

We can also provide continuing monthly pay per click account management after the initial contract for an additional fee and offer additional discounts for 3 month, 6 month, and yearly contracts. Discounts are also available for SEO services when you purchase our PPC services.

Link Exchange:

This service can be quite effective at getting your site noticed by new potential clients and boosting search engine rankings. The best way to make use of a link exchange is finding sites that are relevant, but are not considered competition, and asking if they will place a link on their web site and offer to place a reciprocal link on yours. This boost what is known as your "link popularity", which is used by many search engines to rank your page, but has its own benefits without optimizing a site by allowing more people to easily find your site.

To achieve this service, we can sign you up with many free link exchange directories, find individuals for you to trade links with, and setup your links page (which will match your site's current style). Since there are some companies that charge for multiple link exchanges at once, we will advise you on if this is beneficial to your company and if you choose to pursue that option, we will setup the accounts for you and add whatever code is needed into the site. We will also give you options on sites that allow you to pay a set price (generally monthly) to have your site linked from multiple sites without having to add a reciprocal link.

The cost for this service varies depending on how many sites you want to link to you, as well as what page rankings those sites have. A flat fee or one time cost per link (only charged on free link exchanges and listings) is available. If a link exchange calls for a one-time payment, we will pay the cost and add it to our invoice. However, if a link exchange requires multiple payments, we will gladly setup the account with your information or assist you in setting up the account.

Banners Advertisements:

Have you ever gone to a website and seen a graphical or text ad that caught your eye, enticing you to click on it to find our more about a product, service, or offer that was directly related to the site but seemed to be related to the site you were at somehow? If so, you've already seen the benefit of advertising through ad banners. Though we do not offer our own banner share service, we have several affiliate companies that will perform this service for you at a discounted cost. We will provide you with a list of companies, their cost, terms of use, and our recommendation on which company is best able to do the job for you at a price that fits your budget. Once we confirm which provider you wish to use, we will handle setting up the account and implementing banners on your site if you choose a banner exchange program (though).

Since we do not perform this service ourselves, you will be charged a fee (between $20 and $50) for a consulting fee and the cost of setting up the account(s). For an additional cost, we can offer our graphic arts service to design a banner for you. Banner design is charged under graphic arts and the price varies depending on the amount of detail in the banner and if you would like the banner to be animated.

E-mail Advertising:

When you go to check your email, do you constantly find emails advertising something, urging you to click now to buy or read more? Then like almost everyone with an email account, you have been the recipient of E-mail advertising. Now we all know a good percentage of people delete those emails without even looking at them, but would it surprise you to know that there are some people who stop and look at these offers, and a good percentage out of those will look at your site and even buy your products or services.

Over the past few years e-mail marketing campaigns have been called "spam" by many organizations that claim NOONE asks for these emails and that sending out such emails is unethical. The truth of the matter is that if you have ever registered for anything online and have checked (or left check) a box that reads along the lines of "send me emails with offers", you have just agreed to receive those emails, so they have been asked for. However, this stigma was primarily caused by companies who used to search everywhere on the internet to collect (or harvest) email addresses for use in sending bulk email. Now, with the passing of the "can-spam" act, stricter rules where put in place to prevent companies from using harvested lists and made it mandatory that a recipient of an e-mail advertisement can have their name removed from the list to prevent further e-mails from the sending company.

The two main forms of email advertising are a standard campaign that is meant to entice a viewer to visit your site (or a mirror of your site called a landing page), and a lead generation campaign that is meant to get a viewer to visit a page that is setup with information on your product or service and get them to fill out a form that will alert you that you have a potential client wanting to be contacted. Since there are two different kinds of campaigns, most companies give you two different ways to pay for this service, either a flat fee per million emails or cost per action (clicking to the website, or lead generated). When taking part in a cost per click campaign, you will be charged a set amount for each person who clicks on the ad to go to your site. However, if you are taking part in a lead generation campaign, you will only pay for the viewers that filled out the form to be contacted, meaning you only pay for results that you know are interested in your product or services.

Robert Carter, CEO of Xtreme Site Design, spent almost a year working for Data Resource Consulting (an email marketing firm),in order to find out the truth about e-mail advertising, and was able to see first hand how valuable this form of marketing really is. In his experience, an average campaign would entice around 3% to 10% of the recipients to open the email and out of that an average of 1.5% to 3% would continue to the site. Looking at those percentages, you are probably thinking it's not worth your time, effort, or money, but let's break these down into real numbers (using the lowest average). If you send an email broadcast (or blast) to 1 million people and 3% open that email, you've just had your name exposed to 30,000 people and if 1.5% of those click to visit your site, you've just received 450 new potential clients to your site with one campaign. The percentages used here are based on an average; however there have been many successful campaigns that receive more than 15% opens!! That means more than 150,000 people exposed to your name and more than 15,000 new visitors to your website, all for a cost less than most TV, radio, and newspaper advertising!!! Using this form of marketing you have the potential for an amazing return on investment (ROI).

The benefits to this form of marketing go far beyond its cost and potential ROI, but to the information it can help you obtain. For example if you send an ad through direct mail (snail mail), you have no idea how many people have looked at your advertisement and how many people just threw it away. Does your direct mail campaign give you anyway of knowing how much money your direct mail campaign generated? If you can't, then you have NO WAY of knowing if the money you paid for that campaign was worth it and even if it's an amazingly inexpensive cost, if you are not generating more than you spend, then it's a waste of your time and a loss to your company. With e-mail marketing you can determine how many people opened your email, and how many people used that ad to directly access your site.

Though we do not perform this service directly, we have teamed up with many respectable companies that use unharvested lists to offer you amazing rates on this service. If you decide this service is for you, we will oversee your campaign to make sure that you are in compliance with the "can-spam" act, create your ad (both in HTML and text), create a special page that the ad will link to, and report the results of the campaign to you all for a price that fits your budget. If you choose a flat rate campaign, that cost is included in your invoice from Xtreme Site Design, but if you choose a cost per action or have a partner company host your landing page, you will be billed for those costs by whichever partner company the campaign is run through.

OnSite Marketing- a "call to action" for your site's visitors.

Lead Generation:

This service is for companies that need more than a shopping cart to finalize a sale. If you have a product that many people seem to want more information before they buy, offer a service (such as mortgages, debt reduction, etc…), or just prefer to conduct final sales on the phone (maybe to try to upsale your product or services), then this service is for you. Using a lead generation form, you enable potential customers and clients to let you know they are interested and how to contact them, making them great sales leads. A good example of this is found at The Bob and Laura Story. The form at the end of this "web story" has the sole purpose of capturing information about a potential client with details of what they are interested in and a best time to contact them. Once a visitor has filled out the form, an email is sent to the owner of the form giving them all the information they need to contact their potential new customer. This can also be used to allow users to sign up to receive e-newsletters and email advertisements from your company, making it a very powerful tool to create returning customers.

This service ranges between $50-$150 dollars depending on how many people should receive the information after the form is submitted, the placement of the form, and the number of fields on the form. We can generally complete this service within 2 business days.

Newsletters:

We all know that returning clients can make or break a business. It's great to get new clients, but if you can't convert them to returning clients, then it's a constant quest for more business. If you ask anyone why they didn't return to a website, they might say, I forgot about that site or maybe even I found a discount for something similar elsewhere. This is every businesses worst nightmare, being forgotten or passed up because something similar is cheaper, the worst part is maybe they could have gotten it cheaper at that time from you but didn't know it!

The best way to keep clients coming back for more is to keep them informed of any specials and new products that you are offering. If you're operating a website, it is your best tool for communicating these specials to clients but since they won't always come to you, you have to go to them. Using a Lead Generation form (described above), you can obtain permission to send email to those who have agreed to receive it, and let them know About all your specials, new products, and any other information you find relevant.

Newsletters can be sent through several different methods, like a 3rd party mailer that lets you host and manage your own lists, or even through an account on your site specifically designed For the purpose of emailing newsletters. In addition to where it can be sent from, you have many options on how it can be sent. You can create and send a text newsletter with information and links, or you can send full color, vibrant, newsletters that can match the style of your web site.

For this service, we will setup a standard three-line form so you can gain permission to send emails and design the newsletter For you. In addition, we will provide you with a free list of 3rd party sites that will allow you to host and mail to your email list and their prices. We can even update your newsletter For you, schedule it's mailing, and maintain your mailing lists (For an additional cost).

Message (or Bulletin) Boards:
Do you wish you could get feedback from your clients on a regular basis? Do customers have a lot of questions About your product or services? Do you wish you could have two way communication with clients and customers that didn't have to be scheduled or take up to much time? Then a Message board is For you!

A Message board is an online forum that allows users to post questions, comments, pictures, and more in an area that is separate from your main website (though often is linked from it) that allows two way communication between yourself, the poster of the message, and other members and non-members of the forum. This is a great place to offer customer support, ask questions, receive feedback, and get to know your client base. Imagine the power of being able to poll your current clients to find out what their favorite aspect of the product/service is to where they would go to buy a product like yours. You also get the ability For potential clients to read feedback and even open communication with other customers to gage their responses. So with this one board you have the ability to increase marketing knowledge, answer questions of current customers and potential customers, receive feedback on your products or services, and so much more.

For this service, we will setup a Message board, work to make it have a look and feel appropriate to your site, and give detailed information on the abilities of the forum. We will also monitor the forums For 30 days, during that time we will be available to answer any questions you may have and assist you with moderating the posts that are made.
